13 Sept 2026 Open Monument Day - Fabriek 59 Tilburg

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, Mr. Greg Kalfus, as successor to his grandfather/father of the original textile processing company, will, together with his team, play a significant role in the celebration of National Monument Day at this magnificent Tilburg example of industrial heritage. The interested public will be offered a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of the business park, which today is bringing numerous new uses to fruition.

Jan Doms created the animated film ‘Architecture in Motion’ in collaboration with Iwona Rozbiewska - an abstract story about three textile cities, Tilburg (NL), Łódź (PL), and Gyumri (AM); connected by the rise and fall of the textile industry; the role these cities played in avant-garde art; and the way in which these cities had to reinvent themselves.

Hans Timmermans helped record Paul van Rijswijk's project in PARK (2011 - double concepts) on video. Now there is the opportunity to screen this video recording at Fabriek 59 simultaneously with Jan Doms' video animation. Both are abstract and at the same time ‘realistic’ exercises on time and space.
